If students appreciate that they can meet maths everywhere and every day, they can see the point of practising maths in the classroom. The Maths Every Day series makes that connection by placing activities in directly relevant, real-world contexts – maps, music, food, parts of the body, ten-pin bowling … it’s all here. Activities can be undertaken in any order and can be selected to fit with your current focus in other areas of the curriculum. Books 1 and 2 reinforce addition skills through unique activities in which students must decode letters of the alphabet before completing their addition problem – and so they concurrently strengthen their literacy skills. Book 3 focuses on practical problems in meaningful settings that will engross students in the task at hand.
