Topics include friendship, decision-making, self-esteem, routines and dealing with school life.

Janet Bruce has taught at all levels of the primary school in Australia. As a curriculum coordinator, her primary responsibilities were to develop the school-based English curriculum. Janet developed the guided reading programme while teaching lower primary students and adapted it when teaching other grade levels. As coordinator of the Schools Student Welfare Support Group she facilitated group discussion between parents and teachers of children experiencing social difficulties to develop achieveable goals and practical ideas to assist the children.
